The Ranking Motion Chart
This is a basic handout that allows a Chairperson, Officer, or Parliamentarian to see all the basic motions, their ranks, and their basic 7 characteristics: Recognition Required, Second Required, Interruptible, Debatable, Amendable, Reconsider-able, Required Vote.

The Chart works from the bottom up
The Main Motion is #1 and everything above it ranks above it. So any motion above can supersede the Main Motion and each higher motion supersedes those below it. Incidental Motions below the Main Motion outranks the upper 13 motions. And Bring Back Motions have special purposes that may or may not allow them to handle business.
